Rag Maggots are enemies that appear in Chapter 1 of LISA: The Pointless.

Appearance Edit

Rag Maggots are unkempt men that wear self-made sleeping bags made out of stitches and garbage.

Story Edit

Rag Maggots are hostile people that tried to follow Larry Davis's teachings of the plastic arts, but took them too zealously and became insane as a result. A few Garbage Island NPCs advise you not to fight them, and Rister Syrup even calls Alex "Stupid enough to fight Rag Maggots".

Battle Edit

Rag Maggots crawl around on a set path at a slow pace, and can be avoided either by standing still, or by moving out of their way.

In battle they frequently bite your party members for low-medium damage. They also can inflict Rage upon themselves, which makes their bites occasionally deal huge crit damage.

Strategy Edit

If the player does come in contact with a Rag Maggot, they can escape from the battle or choose to fight. If you choose to escape, make sure to stand completely still until they're a few tiles away from you. Lest you'll end up re-entering combat accidentally.

If you do plan on killing a Rag Maggot for the XP or Mystery Jerky, then on the first turn you should try using Goat Headbutt for Alex, Gun Toss for Joel and Guard for Georgy. The Maggot will hopefully not be able to attack and remove Taunt from Joel, which is what you want. If the Rag Maggot is still stunned beyond the first turn, use Load It In if your SP is low for Joel, or Single Out if your SP is doing fine. For Alex, you should use Receding Stance. After the Rag Maggot is unstunned, use Roll Out for Joel and wail on the Rag Maggot with Georgy and Alex, using Roll Out whenever the buff wears out, using Load It In and Goat Headbutt if Joel ever needs a breather.

However, if Goat Headbutt does not stun on the first turn then you should get Alex to use Receding Stance and both Georgy and Joel to Guard, or Load It In if SP is running low. If successful, you should be able to use Goat Headbutt and Gun Toss again with minimal damage taken.

Trivia Edit

  • When a Rag Maggot's health is depleted fully, they begin flipping out wildly instead of leaving a corpse behind.
  • The Rag Maggots are a reference to a RPG Maker Game called Garbage Pigeons (Outsite Link)
